Development and Operations of Retirement Communities
|
Erickson Retirement Communities has been based in Baltimore County, Maryland, since 1983.
The company’s core business is developing and managing retirement communities. For middle-income people, the Erickson lifestyle offers unparalleled opportunities and is the best financial and health decision people can make.
The Erickson network currently comprises 23 campuses. Twenty-three campuses in Colorado, Illinois, Kansas, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Missouri, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, and Virginia, are home to more than 21,000 people and employ more than 12,000. The company is currently developing new communities in the Denver area, Kansas City area, and in Ashburn, Virginia. It is also pursuing land acquisition opportunities across the U.S.
The company’s annual overall growth in 2006 was 14.6%. A total of 2,431 people across the country moved to Erickson campuses last year, and the company added a total of 1,100 new employees nationwide in 2006.
Erickson pioneered the 100% Refundable Entrance Deposit,* which protects residents' equity, and a fee-for-service schedule that ensures residents only pay for services they want and/or need, making the full range of housing and health services available to middle- and moderate-income America.
Comprehensive Services
There are numerous services available to people who live in Erickson communities, including transportation, grounds maintenance, and housekeeping. On-site amenities include restaurants, stores, Fitness Center with full-time trainers, and a Medical Center staffed by board certified primary care physicians who specialize in geriatrics and practice only at Erickson campuses.
Erickson campuses are uniquely self-sufficient, providing their own security and emergency response service. They also provide their own road repair, snow removal, and other services typically funded by the local government.
Erickson campuses have a positive economic impact on the greater communities where they are located, through real estate taxes, capital investment, community expenses, and the creation of about 1,000 new jobs per campus.
